HELP PRESERVE ROBERTS FARM
The Western Foothills Land Trust, which previously acquired the Witt Swamp, an important watershed for Norway Lake, has recently entered into and agreement to acquire the 150 acre Pike-Roberts Farm from the Oxford Growth Council. This was the proposed site of the Tech Park that never materialized. If the tech park had gone forward, they could have been significant clear cutting of the ridge facing the south shore of Norway Lake. The Trust, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, needs to raise $150,000 by September 27, 2007 to move forward with the purchase. Please support this worthy cause. See www.wfltmaine.org for more info.
Paris Farmer's Union in now in a new location (the old Hancock Lumber building) and they are stocking No Phos phosphorous-free fertilizer. If you are in the lakes watershed area - please help keep our lakes, ponds and streams clean by using phosphorous-free products!
